What is Erectile Dysfunction?

Erectile Dysfunction is the inability for a longer and firm erection to a sexual intercourse. It is called sometimes as impotence, the lack of ability of Man’s sexual or his penis to erect firmly and longer during sexual activity. This could be a cause of stress or anxiety, but sometimes it may lead to health conditions or penile health problems.

When your aroused it send a signal to your brain down to your veins or blood vessels to your penis causing them to open and allowing blood to flow thru the vessels as it build pressure makes it erect, if the flow became less or insufficient then it could not hold longer, which cause erectile dysfunction. Sexual desire is caused by physical, mental and emotional factors, if one of these factors are affected it would lead ED. Let’s say you are depressed or stressed out with your work, or always over fatigued.

Common causes of Erectile Dysfunction

There are two (2) Factors that are causing impotence or ED, the Physical and Psychological cause:

Physical

  • Cardiovascular Disease or Heart disease.
  • Hardening of the arteries (atherosclerosis) – Blood vessels are clogged

There are common certain behaviors of men that may lead to erectile dysfunction, Excessive alcohol use Illegal use of drugs, frequent use of Anabolic steroids, and addicted smoking. These habits can be easily controlled if we really do this for our health, we can divert our time by doing some physical or sports activities during your free time, these activities also help you become physically fit. 

There are also certain medical conditions that can increase the risk of having erectile dysfunction, to mention a few;

  • Peyronie disease
  • Arteriosclerosis
  • Cardiovascular disease
  • Diabetes
  • Endocrine disorders
  • Neurological disorders
  • High blood pressure

Complications having Erection problems

Having erection problem may cause an unsatisfactory sex life which lead to a relationship problem, fear or rejection or depression, this will also lead to your very low self esteem. Most people having this problem sometimes think or feel very bad about themselves which leads them to be undeforming or unfocused on their jobs.  It would lead also to very poor sex life or even inability to make your partner pregnant.

How to prevent Erectile dysfunction

This health condition may affect your life badly, be it be physical and emotional. But you can prevent it by starting or living a healthy life, quit smoking – these vices can make you unhealthy, don’t drink too much alcohol or drink moderately, exercise regularly.

The psychological factor can be reduced if you yourself would focus your mind on other things instead, think positive, don’t dwell too much on negative things which may lead to depression. Most of the things that you feel emotional about are all in your mind. You can control it.
